    New hire swag, handled

Most kit programs break for one of three reasons: somebody on the people ops team has to manually pack boxes, the swag marketplace markup makes the per kit cost untenable at volume, or production quality slips because nobody owns the brand consistency across vendors.

APC owns every step. We design the kit, produce every component on our own floor — custom embroidery, screen printing, DTF printing, sublimation printing, and laser engraving for drinkware — assemble the kits, warehouse them, and ship individually on demand.

What goes in an APC onboarding kit

Every onboarding kit is scoped to the brand, budget, and buyer. Typical contents:

    Branded apparel

One to three pieces per kit. Most common combo is a branded T shirt, quarter zip or hoodie, and cap. Premium pieces embroidered on the Tajima 8 head. Higher volume pieces screen printed. DTF or sublimation for photo based or multi color brand art.

    Branded drinkware

YETI Rambler tumblers, Stanley Quenchers, Hydro Flask water bottles, Corkcicle drinkware, or ceramic mugs. Laser engraved on three in house Epilog fiber laser units for permanent marks that won't fade or wash off.

    Notebook, pen, and stationery

Branded hardcover notebooks (Moleskine, Field Notes, or custom bound). Branded pens including metal pen sets for premium tiers. Custom stickers, sticky notes, and stationery.

    Stickers, decals, and tech accessories

Die cut logo stickers, custom decals, branded phone wallets, laptop stickers, mousepads, cable organizers, USB drives, and tech accessories calibrated to remote and hybrid workers.

    Custom branded box and packaging

The kit ships in a branded box, not a generic mailer. Custom printed exterior, branded tissue paper, branded insert card — an unboxing experience that reflects the brand's design language.

    Personalized welcome card

Every kit includes a personalized card addressed to the new hire, printed in house with their name, role, and an optional note from the hiring manager or CEO. Variable data handled programmatically.

    How the program works

    1. 01

      Scope and design

APC works with your brand, marketing, or people ops team to scope kit contents, design the packaging, and lock the SKU list. Kit design proofs get approved before any production runs.

    2. 02

      Production and kit assembly

Once approved, APC produces the full inventory run. Apparel decoration, drinkware engraving, branded box printing, and stationery production all happen at the Cedar Park facility. Kits are then assembled.

    3. 03

      Warehousing in Cedar Park

Assembled kits — minus the personalized welcome card and outbound label — are stored in dedicated onboarding inventory. Racked shelving with SKU level inventory tracking tied to your account.

    4. 04

      Individual shipping on demand

When a hire is ready to receive their kit, trigger a ship request through the APC client portal, CSV upload, or HRIS integration. APC pulls a kit, prints the personalized card, applies the label, and ships same or next business day.

    5. 05

      Inventory reporting and reorders

Real time inventory levels in the client portal. When stock drops below your replenishment threshold, APC flags a reorder conversation. Stored logo files and specs guarantee year over year consistency.

Who APC onboarding kits are built for

Distributed and remote first tech companies

Hiring into a distributed workforce where new hires are scattered across the country or internationally. Kits ship direct to home addresses so every remote hire opens one on day one.

Fast growing startups and scale ups

Companies hiring 5 to 50 people per month who can't afford to manually produce, pack, and ship kits internally. The APC program handles the volume with zero operational overhead on your side.

Enterprise HR and people ops teams

Large employers running structured onboarding across multiple offices. Multi location delivery, multi business unit branding within a single program, and integration with enterprise HRIS systems.

    Agencies managing client kit programs

Marketing agencies, talent acquisition agencies, and people ops consultancies running kit programs on behalf of client accounts. White label fulfillment with client branded boxes and agency level reporting.

Most APC clients also run broader corporate programs and tech and startup apparel programs alongside their onboarding kits.

Why APC instead of a swag marketplace

Production happens on site, not sourced through markups

Swag marketplaces are aggregators that mark up goods sourced from other decorators. APC runs its own production floor — embroidery, screen printing, DTF, sublimation, and laser engraving all in Cedar Park. No middleman markup stack.

One account manager, not a support ticket queue

Every onboarding client gets a dedicated account manager who knows the program, brand, and SKU list. Conversations happen directly, not through a ticket system routed to different reps each time.

    Austin production, national fulfillment

Kits produce in Cedar Park and ship nationally. For local Austin hires, same day or next day delivery is possible. For distributed hires, standard shipping windows apply with real time tracking back to the client.

Inventory owned by you, not locked behind a vendor portal

Kits held in APC warehousing are your inventory, tied to your account. If you ever switch vendors, the inventory ships out. No lock in, no hostage inventory, no proprietary portal that loses access when the relationship ends.

    Program tiers and kit volumes

    25 to 100 kits

    Starter

Minimum viable onboarding program for early stage companies or small cohort hiring. Single production run held in Cedar Park for on demand shipping as hires arrive.

    100 to 500 kits

    Growth

Standard tier for growing companies hiring 10 to 40 people per month. Annual or semi annual production refreshes with rolling shipping across the period.

    500+ kits

    Enterprise

Multi product tier programs for companies hiring at scale. Often includes tiered kits by role (engineering, sales, executive), multi business unit branding, and HRIS integration for automated ship triggers.

    Example onboarding kit programs

25 person remote first startup in the Domain

Onboarded 3 to 6 new hires per month. APC designed a three SKU kit (branded T shirt, engraved YETI Rambler, branded notebook with stickers and welcome card) in a custom printed box. 80 kits produced and stored. Client triggered ship requests through the APC portal as new hires signed. Reorder at 20 kit threshold.

400 person SaaS company hiring 25 per month across US and Canada

Two tier program. Standard kit for individual contributors (T shirt, hoodie, tumbler, notebook, stickers) and premium for director and above (embroidered Patagonia quarter zip, engraved YETI, leather notebook, executive pen set). 300 standard + 60 premium produced and shipped via HRIS integration.

1,800 person enterprise across Austin, Denver, and Boston

Multi business unit program with three sub brands, tiered kits by role, and dedicated home shipping for remote hires plus bulk office shipping for office based hires. Multi brand packaging, SKU level inventory across six kit variants, monthly reporting to people ops.

APC also serves the Domain tech corridor and broader Austin metro with promotional products and branded drinkware and custom apparel programs.

    Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum kit order?

Typical minimum is 25 kits per program. Smaller cohort needs are considered case by case.

Can the kit contents vary by role or tier?

Yes. Multi tier kit programs are standard. Engineering, sales, executive, and intern kits can run in parallel under a single program with distinct SKU lists and branded packaging.

How quickly can kits ship after the client triggers a ship request?

Same business day if triggered before noon Central. Next business day otherwise. Shipping transit time depends on the destination and carrier selection.

    Does APC handle international shipping?

Yes, to most major international destinations. International shipping adds customs documentation, duties, and longer transit times.

Does APC integrate with HRIS systems?

Enterprise tier programs integrate with Workday, BambooHR, Rippling, and Gusto via API or scheduled CSV feeds. Smaller programs trigger through the client portal or manual CSV upload.

What happens when a new hire's kit contents need to update?

Most clients refresh the kit design annually or biannually. APC produces new inventory, transitions the active SKU, and either ships out remaining legacy inventory or writes it off per your preference.

    Who pays for shipping?

The client. APC quotes shipping separately and bills at carrier cost plus a standard handling fee. Domestic ground on a standard kit runs $8 to $15 depending on weight and destination.

Can the client see inventory in real time?

Yes. Every onboarding client gets portal access showing current inventory, historical ship volume, and program spend. Enterprise clients get additional custom reporting.

What happens if the client terminates the relationship?

The inventory belongs to you. On termination, APC ships the remaining kits to your designated address and the relationship closes. No retention fee or hostage inventory.
